Dhaka, June 15 -- Stakeholders and participants in a programme sought a conducive atmosphere to widen mergers and acquisition (M&A) transactions for faster growth of businesses.

They also emphasised the greater and more trustworthy roles of the country's M&A intermediaries to help improve practices in the sector.

These observations were made on the first day of a two-day workshop on 'Mergers & Acquisition and Syndication Financing' at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel in the capital on Wednesday.

NDB Capital Limited, one of the leading international investment banks in Bangladesh, organised the workshop.
