Dhaka, March 6 -- Bangladesh Road Transport Authority has rejected a report recently published by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) that disclosed Tk 9.0 billion in illegal transactions in the bus service sector.

Terming the report 'a blatant lie', BRTA Chairman Nur Mohammad Mazumder strongly protested the TIB's findings.

"The report is prepared based on assumptions and with ill motive".

The BRTA chairman made these remarks while addressing a press conference at his office in the capital on Wednesday.

He claimed that the BRTA has been providing services online for the last few years, reducing the scope of illegal earnings by BRTA officials and employees.
