Bangladesh, Nov. 10 -- Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said on Saturday Bangladesh expects the existing peace and harmony to be maintained in India following the verdict on disputed religious site in the town of Ayodhya.

The foreign minister, however, said he does not know about the verdict in details but expects the harmony to be maintained in Bangladesh, too.

He made the brief remarks while talking to reporters at a sports event in the city.

In a verdict announced amid heightened security across India, its Supreme Court awarded Hindus control of a disputed religious site in the town of Ayodhya for the construction of a temple.
