Bangladesh, Jan. 21 -- Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) is one of the leading public universities, which has long been producing agriculture scientists and agriculturists for ensuring national food security and growth of the farm sector. Almost 99 per cent of students of this university live on the campus to study smoothly.

Number of students has doubled in the past decade but number of seats at dormitories has not increased accordingly. The university administration built nine dormitories for male students and two for females when most of the students were male. Now male-female ratio has been almost equal. As a result, there has been a serious accommodation crisis. This needs to be addressed on an urgent basis.
