Bangladesh, Oct. 21 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Sunday arrested Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons Bazlur Rashid for alleged accumulation of wealth from illegal sources.
Before the arrest, ACC officials on the day interrogated Mr Rashid and his wife Razzakun Nahar at the commission headquarters in the city's Segunbagicha over graft allegations.
Confirming the arrest, ACC Secretary Muhammad Dilwar Bakht said Mr Rashid accumulated huge amount of money through bribery and other irregularities.
He owns an apartment worth of Tk 30.8 million in the city's Siddheswari area which was allegedly bought with illegal money, he added.
