Dhaka, July 11 -- The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday grilled the director of a company over alleged graft in mask and PPE procurement for the health ministry to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

An enquiry team led by ACC director Mir Md Zainul Abedin Shebly grilled MediTech Imaging Ltd director Humayan Kabir at the ACC headquarters, ACC sources said.

The anti-graft agency also summoned Lexicon Merchandiser and Technocrat Ltd owner Motazzerul Islam Mithu to appear before the commission on the day but he was absent and sent his lawyer on behalf.

Mithu, the alleged ringleader of a syndicate responsible for irregularities in the health sector, is now staying at the United States for treatment, his lawyer told journalists.
