Bangladesh, Oct. 23 -- ACC has changed its lawyer to treat an ongoing High Court case challenging a central bank circular, which allowed defaulters to reschedule their loans with a repayment period for 10 years and get further loans.

Barrister Hassan MS Azim who appeared in the court in this case on behalf of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on the previous days was not present in the court on Tuesday.

He submitted a statement in the court on Monday on behalf of the ACC in favour of forming an inquiry commission to probe into the irregularities of the banking sector. But the lawyer told the FE that he felt embarrassed to operate the case on behalf of the ACC and that is why he refrained himself from operating it.
