New Delhi, Oct. 3 -- In a bid to encourage consumers to cut down on plastic usage, leading milk supplier Mother Dairy Tuesday urged consumer to buy token milk from vending machine as it is cheaper by Rs 4 per litre than packet milk.

Mother Diary said it will take steps to promote consumption of token milk including door-step delivery of milk. It also said it would revamp retail outlets selling milk through vending machines to improve consumer experience.

"With the current daily average volume of 6 lakh litres through Mother Dairy's network of 900 booths, the cash incentive works just closer to Rs 90 crore per year, Mother Dairy said in a statement Tuesday according to reports published in indianexpress.com
