NEW DELHI, March 8 -- Previously a former dairy processor just outside of New York City, Elmhurst Dairy LLC changed its name to Elmhurst 1925 when the company made the switch to producing plant-based beverages in 2017.

Seeing a decline in dairy consumption and a change in the American diet, Elmhurst CEO Henry Schwartz made the decision to change the family business by rebranding from Elmhurst Dairy to Elmhurst 1925 and going all vegan.

Now exclusively dairy-free, the company has also started to produce hemp "creamer" made from the seeds of the cannabis plant.

Containing only miniscule amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the dairy alternative will not give consumers the psychotropic "high" typically associated with the cannabis plant. ...
