Tanzania, Nov. 30 -- Dar es Salaam. A Tanzanian tech team took home honours for computer programming in India.

An annual 36-hour competition called "The Hackathon" unites students, professors, and the research community from India and its African partners to address shared problems faced by their nations while also promoting cross-cultural understanding.

A total of 19 students from the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NMAIST) and the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) took part.

Steven Phales Ngaralije and Jackson Mihayo Seleman from DIT, Ghaniya Rashid Hamad, and Eunice Silas from NMAIST were among the winners.
