Tanzania, Feb. 27 -- Moshi. In an effort to promote environmental conservation and encourage the use of clean cooking energy, Oryx Gas Tanzania Ltd. and the Special Seats Member of Parliament for Kilimanjaro Region, Ms Shally Raymond, have distributed 1,000 cooking gas cylinders for free.

The cylinders, along with their stoves, have been distributed to leaders of various religious denominations and entrepreneurs in the region.

During the distribution exercise here yesterday, the deputy Minister for Energy, Ms Judith Kapinga, emphasised the crucial role of religious leaders in promoting the use of clean cooking energy within communities.
