Tanzania, March 19 -- Arusha. The African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights (AfCHPR) says it was keen on upgrading the skills of legal writers.

This, it said, would not only improve drafting of judgements but also the quality of legal writing.

The commitment was made last week as the Court concluded a three-day refresher exchange aimed at improving and refining the skills of officers from the Legal and Language Units in judgment drafting and legal writing.

The capacity building stint was held in pursuit of the Court Legal Division's goal to review the quality processes implemented by the Court towards the achievement of its judicial mandate to promote and protect the human and peoples' rights on the continent.
