India, Nov. 23 -- The Supreme Court on Monday expressed concern over the spike of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Assam and sought status reports from the states on the steps taken by them in regards to the current COVID-19 situation.

A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan pulled up Gujarat and Delhi for the worsening COVID-19 situation.

The Top Court has asked all the states to file status reports on steps they have taken, steps intended to be taken and help needed from Centre to combat COVID-19 situation.

"We are hearing of a huge spike in the current month. We want a latest status report from all states. Worse things may happen in December if states aren't well prepared," the top court said.
