Priyanka Gandhi targets UP government for arresting farmers in stubble burning case
India, Nov. 6 -- Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday targeted the Uttar Pradesh government for arresting farmers in Saharanpur in stubble burning case.
Taking to the microblogging site, Priyanka said, "Are only farmers responsible for pollution? When will the action be taken against real culprits of pollution? Farmer's vote - Legal, Farmer's Paddy - Legal, Farmer's straw - illegal? UP government jailed farmers in Saharanpur, thanks to Congress colleagues for getting them released."
On November 3, Police arrested six farmers for burning stubble in the Saharanpur area. A delegation formed by local Congress party met the area administration and demanded the release of the farmers arrested in the case.
