India, Sept. 14 -- The Central government on Monday informed the Supreme Court that no slums will be demolished near the rail tracks as the Railways is discussing this issue with the Delhi government and the Ministry of Urban Development to find a solution.

The solicitor told the bench headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde that no jhuggi will be removed or demolished until the Railways in consultation with the Ministry of Urban Development discuss and find a solution.

The submission was made in a plea filed by senior Congress leader Ajay Maken, challenging the Supreme Court order on August 31, for the demolition of nearly 48,000 jhuggis alongside the railway tracks in Delhi.
