New Delhi, March 28 -- Kerala reported its first coronavirus death after a 69-year-old man passed away in a hospital in Kochi on Saturday. The patient had a travel history to Dubai.

According to the sources, the patient who hails from Kerala's Ernakulam was admitted to hospital on March 22.

The man was brought in with the symptoms of pneumonia but later on tested positive for coronavirus.

State Health Minister KK Shailaja in a tweet said, "Staying at home doesn't mean we are not together in this. By standing alone we are becoming one for our society & are giving strong messages to the society. Every one has creative ideas and this alone time can be used as an opportunity to showcase our ideas."
