Indian Army hands back PLA soldier who strayed across LAC to China
India, Oct. 21 -- A People's Liberation Army (PLA) soldier, who was apprehended by the Indian army in the Demchok sector of Eastern Ladakh on October 19 after he had strayed across the Line of Actual Control (LAC) was on Tuesday handed back to China at the Chushul Moldo meeting point, officials said.
The soldier was caught amid the ongoing border standoff between both armies.
The PLA soldier was identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long.
In a statement released earlier, the Indian army had said, "The PLA soldier has been provided medical assistance including oxygen, food and warm clothes to protect him from the vagaries of extreme altitude and harsh climatic conditions.
