INDIA, April 19 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Uttar Pradesh's Hamirpur district, Ashok Chandel was on Friday sentenced to life imprisonment after he was found guilty in a 22-year-old murder case.
The Allahabad High Court sentenced him for his involvement in the murder of five people on January 26, 1997.
The court also sentenced 10 others to life imprisonment.
According to the reports, three members of a family along with two security guards were killed in the incident.
