India, Oct. 24 -- With the rise of pollutants in the atmosphere, the air quality in the national capital reached the 'severe' category on Saturday.

According to reports, the Air Quality Index (AQI) is at 432 in the 'severe' category at Alipur. At Mundka, the AQI level was 427 and AQI was 409 in Wazirpur.

As per experts, the severe level affects people's health and impacts those with existing conditions.

An AQI between 0-50 is considered 'good', 51-100 is 'satisfactory', 101-200 'moderate', 201-300 'poor', 301-400 'very poor' and 401-500 is considered as 'severe/hazardous'.
