INDIA, March 21 -- All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) MLA R Kanagaraj on Thursday died of cardiac arrest. He was 64.
Kanagaraj, who represented AIADMK in Tamil Nadu's Sulur constituency assembly passed away at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.
With Kanagaraj's death, the vacancy in the Tamil Nadu Assembly has gone up to 22.
The Election Commission (EC) has announced by-elections for 18 Assembly constituencies on April 18 along with the Lok Sabha polls.
