Sri Lanka, June 28 -- Skipper of Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Muditha Premadasa, became the first batsman to go past the 1000-run milestone in the current U-19 division one schools cricket season.

The left handed batsman and wicket keeper has the distinction of having scored three centuries and six half tons from 25 innings. His highest score was 197 runs against Devapathiraja College, Rathgama.

This is also a repeat of last season's milestone when he scored 1017 runs with a highest score of 153 against Richmond.

His consistent performances opened the doors for him to be picked to the U-19 pool for the Indian tour of Sri Lanka and the tour of Sri Lanka by the Bangladesh team.
