Singapore, Jan. 10 -- At software technology company Quest Software Singapore, both men and women are encouraged to make use of flexible work arrangements to better balance their responsibilities at work and at home.

This seems simple, but it helps ensure there is no gender bias towards those who take up the options, which include telecom-muting and flexible start and end times, said Quest's human resources director Vivien Li.

The firm also intentionally removes gender data in the HR report provided to managers for the purpose of pay increase recommendations during its annual pay review cycle. This eliminates gender as a factor of consideration when pay decisions are made, said Ms Li.
