Singapore, Dec. 8 -- The long road from Angeles City to New Clark City begins with a ride through dusty streets teeming with cars, jeepneys and honking trikes (motorised tricycles), before it gives way to bucolic countryside.

Amid the padi fields lies the spanking new development built for the 30th SEA Games comprising a 20,000-seater athletics stadium, 2,000-capacity aquatic centre and the Athletes' Village.

The facilities are part of the 9,450ha project in Capas, Tarlac. It is modelled on Malaysia's federal administrative capital Putrajaya and is expected to accommodate up to 1.2 million people.
