Recently, while walking through the streets of Mysuru, I have noticed a growing amount of plastic waste and other litter. Mysuru, once renowned for its cleanliness, is gradually losing its charm and turning into a city plagued by trash. Previously, every Ward within the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) limits had designated garbage containers placed every few streets for waste disposal. However, this system is no longer in place.

Now, municipal workers collect waste door-to-door, but they refuse to accept it unless it is properly segregated into wet and dry waste. In some instances, workers reportedly demand money to collect the waste.
