With reference to the letter titled 'New Ticket Counter at Ashokapuram Railway Station remains closed' published in Star of Mysore dated July 28, we wish to clarify that the report does not accurately reflect the factual situation.

On 24.7.2025, the UTS/PRS systems at the second entry booking office were non-functional between 7 am and 10 am due to power outage caused by an electrical fault during the previous night.

The issue went unnoticed until the duty clerk arrived in the morning, by which time the UPS backup was also drained, rendering the system inoperative. The matter was immediately escalated to the Electrical Department, and quick action by the SSE/Electrical team restored normal functioning by 10 am.
