Mysore/Mysuru, Jan. 10 -- The State Cabinet has granted administrative approval for the establishment of a silk cocoon market in Mysuru at an estimated cost of Rs. 20 crore.

The project will be implemented in collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and is expected to benefit silk growers in Mysuru and neighbouring regions.

The decision was taken at the second Cabinet meeting of 2026, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Bengaluru on Jan. 8.
