Mysuru, June 8 -- In separate cases, online fraudsters have cheated two persons including a senior citizen to the tune of Rs. 22,56,650 in city.
In the first case, a 60-year-old resident of Bogadi, was befriended by a man on Facebook on Mar. 23. The man, who introduced himself as Philo Victor, told the senior citizen that he was a resident of the United Kingdom (UK) and took his (senior citizen) mobile phone number and began to send messages to him.
On May 28, Victor called the senior citizen and told him that he was in New Delhi and asked the senior citizen for some money to complete the immigration formalities and he would return the money later.
