India, June 19 -- A total of 292 students from the district have been selected for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Scheme announced by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India, for meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections studying between 9th std and 12th std. While a total of 274 candidates had been allocated to the district, an additional 18 students have been selected this year which includes 221 students from government schools - 98 students from Adarsha Vidyalaya, 20 from Karnataka Public Schools, 58 from Government High Schools, 45 from Government Higher Primary Schools and 71 from Government Aided Schools.
