After the Deputy Commissioner's Office shifted to the new premises, the old DC Office building - an iconic heritage structure - appears to have been neglected.

It is distressing to note that shrubs have grown on rooftop and thick climbers are spreading across the exterior walls, posing a serious threat to the structural integrity of the building.

The old DC Office is an important landmark of Mysuru's heritage. Continued neglect may cause it to meet the unfortunate fate of other neglected heritage structures such as the Lansdowne Building and the old Main Fire Brigade building.
