It is rather disconcerting to note that Mysuru continues to introduce traffic signal systems rooted in obsolete technology.

Despite being promoted as one of India's leading smart cities, Mysuru still relies heavily on fixed-time traffic signals that operate on preset intervals, without considering real-time traffic volume or road conditions.

While such systems may have served their purpose in earlier years, they are increasingly ineffective in today's rapidly evolving urban environment. Their continued use only worsens traffic congestion, causes unnecessary fuel consumption and contributes significantly to rising air pollution.
