Mandya, July 21 -- A case of first year MBBS student committing suicide has been reported from Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences (MIMS) here this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Bharat Yattinamani (22), a native of Bandi village in Yelburga taluk of Koppal district.

According to the Police, Bharat was found hanging to the ceiling fan at his room in the college hostel by one of his hostel mates this morning who informed the college authorities.

Later, the college authorities informed the Police who arrived at the spot and conducted mahazar before shifting the body to post mortem.

A case has been registered at Mandya East Police Station in this regard.
