Mysore/Mysuru, July 26 -- In a boost to women's cricket, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is all set to announce its first edition of KSCA Maharani Trophy starting from Aug. 4.

The matches will be played at Alur Grounds in Benglauru and the finals will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Aug. 10, a day before the commencement of 4th edition of KSCA Maharaja Trophy.

Like the Maharaja Trophy, women's trophy will have five franchises taking part - Mysore Warriors, Hubli Tigers, Shivamogga Lions, Mangaluru Dragons and Bengaluru Blasters. However, Gulbarga Mystics, who are one of the franchises of Maharaja Trophy, will not be a part of Maharani Trophy.
