India, May 31 -- The Karnataka Government has decided to shut down all Janaushadhi Kendras operating within Government Hospital premises, citing that State-run hospitals are expected to provide medicines free of cost to patients. However, the move has sparked strong criticism, with many calling it regressive and anti-poor. Widespread protests have erupted in opposition to the decision.
