India, Oct. 31 -- Hunsur/Mandya, Oct. 31 - A Gram Panchayat (GP) Member from Hunsur was burnt alive when the Toyota Innova Multi-Utility Vehicle (MUV) in which he was travelling caught fire after a tipper vehicle collided head-on with the MUV near Hosahalli, between Pump House and Palahalli in Srirangapatna taluk on Wednesday night.

The deceased is Chandrashekar (49), Mookanahalli GP Member and son of former Mookanahalli Panchayat Pradhan late M.M. Shettygowda.

Chandrashekar, who had taken part in a peace meeting at a village near Mandya, was proceeding in his Innova car (KA-51-MB-6478) towards Hunsur, when the tipper vehicle collided head-on with his car.
