With reference to B.G. Balaji's letter 'Garbage on every road?' published in SOM dated Apr. 8, I wish to address the pressing concerns raised about the state of affairs in Mysuru city.

The issue of widespread garbage mounds across the city is indeed a long-standing problem, exacerbated by the apparent indifference of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). Citizens indeed bear some responsibility due to a lack of civic sense, often stemming from illiteracy and inadequate education.
