Last week, an attempt was made to upload the required documents for obtaining an e-Khatha for my residential property. Although all inputs were uploaded, the system rejected the request for a draft copy, citing that the Encumbrance Certificate (EC) had expired - and therefore the upload could not be considered complete.
Unfortunately, due to repeated server downtime, frequent transfer of officials at the Mysuru City Corporation and personal reasons, the uploading process had been delayed. The situation is highly disappointing, as one cannot proceed without a draft of the document.
It appears that ECs are being treated as valid only for 15 days, a rule difficult to comprehend. Having obtained a fresh EC last weeke...
