India, June 24 -- On June 14, Sri Krishna Gana Sabha hosted a Bharatanatyam recital by two promising young dancers, Pooja Sugam and K.M. Sameeksha. Under the guidance of Guru Vid. Vijaykumar of Chennai, these artistes are steadily carving a niche for themselves through compelling duet performances. Their exploration of choreography was evident in the two self-choreographed pieces they presented, indicating a bright future ahead. This event was sponsored by Dr. C.G. Narasimhan and family.
The recital began with Muthuswami Dikshitar's 'Sri Gananaatham Bhajamyaham' in Raga Kanakangi, which was thoughtfully choreographed by the duo. This was followed by 'Om Sharavanabhava' (Raga: Shanmukhapriya), a unique composition by Ghatam Karthik.
