Mysuru, April 18 -- Former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna said that Mysuru, apart from being home to Classical Music, Dasa Sahitya, Folk Songs etc., also promotes Sugama Sangeetha.

He was speaking at 'Gaanayaana,' a musical concert presented by Gaana Nandana and Star Singers troupe at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here recently.

Pointing out that the Mysuru District Unit of Karnataka Sugama Sangeetha Parishat is the most active among all district units, Dr. Rajanna said that the Mysuru Unit stands first in organising cultural programmes and Musical Nites across the State, including Bengaluru.
