The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) commemorated its 35th Anniversary at the Regimental Centre, Boyagane, under the guidance of Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, Commander of Security Forces - Central and Colonel of the Regiment VIR on 22 March 2025.
As part of the celebrations, the Regiment organised a special lunch for residents of the Mallawapitiya Elders' Home and Maliyadeva Boys' Home on 15 March 2025. In a community service initiative, troops also renovated the roof of the cancer ward at the Teaching Hospital - Kurunegala.
