The outgoing Ambassador of the United States, H.E. Julie Chung, paid a farewell call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence today (08 January), marking the conclusion of the envoy's diplomatic tenure in Sri Lanka.
During the meeting, the Defence Secretary and the US Ambassador reflected on the strong and longstanding defence cooperation between the two countries and discussed avenues for continued collaboration in regional security, capacity building, and matters of mutual interest.
