The 59 Infantry Division organised a "Sigithi New Year Festival" for schoolchildren of Mullaitivu and Kokilai areas on 5 April 2025 at the Green Jacket Holiday Resort, Alampil, in celebration of the forthcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
Aligned with the Clean Sri Lanka initiative, the event aimed to promote reconciliation, cultural harmony and community engagement among the younger generation.
