Colombo, Sri Lanka, April 9 -- Sri Lanka Army issued the following press release:
Train services on the Badulla-Colombo railway line were disrupted on 6 April 2025 between Idalgashinna and Ohiya due to heavy rainfall triggering soil and rock slides onto the tracks.
Responding to a request from the Disaster Management Centre, troops of the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the 112 Infantry Brigade cleared the blockage on 07 April 2025. Their swift action enabled the prompt restoration of normal railway operations.
