In line with the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action (04 April), the Sri Lanka Army conducted a series of awareness and educational programmes in selected areas, focusing on communities affected by past conflict.
The main event, conducted by the 10th Sri Lanka Engineers Regiment, educated 195 school children of J/Palali North G.T.M School on the dangers of landmines, anti-personnel mines, explosive remnants of war (ERW) and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
