Colombo, Sri Lanka, June 3 -- Sri Lanka Air Force issued the following news release:
The Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), undertook an inspection visit to the Batticaloa region in the Eastern Province today (03 June 2025), with the aim of assessing the current security situation.
The visit was also attended by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe.
During the visit, the Defence Secretary held discussions with senior officers of the tri-services and the police deployed in the area, focusing on prevailing security issues and evaluating the preparedness of the forces to effectively respond to any potential emergencies.
