In parallel with the National War Heroes' Memorial Day, the Central Province commemorated the War Heroes on 29 May 2025 at the War Heroes' Memorial in Mailapitiya.
The Commander, Security Forces (Central), Major General K.A.W.N.H Bandaranayake USP, together with Senior Officers, government officials, dignitaries, representatives from the Sister Services and the Police, family members of War Heroes also attended the ceremony.
