Colombo, Sri Lanka, April 2 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) vessels Bungo and Etajima arrived at the Port of Colombo on Tuesday (Apr 1) as part of a goodwill visit. The Sri Lanka Navy extended a warm welcome to the visiting ships, adhering to established naval traditions, Navy media says.
The Bungo, a 141-meter-long Uraga-Class Minesweeper Tender, is under the command of Commander Tanaka Koji, while the Etajima, a 65-meter-long Minesweeper, is led by Commander Oda Takayuki.
