Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 17 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:

The French Navy ship PROVENCE arrived at the Port of Colombo yesterday (Mar 16) on an official visit. The vessel was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy with the customary naval traditions, SLN media says.

Commanded by Captain Lionel SIEGFRIED, the PROVENCE is a 142.20-meter-long destroyer. During their stay in Sri Lanka, the ship's crew will explore various tourist attractions across the country. The vessel is scheduled to depart from the island on March 20, it further says.
