Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 19 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:

The Civil Security Department (CSD) plays a vital role in the country's economic development by implementing agricultural projects aimed at ensuring food security in Sri Lanka.

During the Maha season last year, approximately 1.6 million kilograms of paddy were harvested from 4,471 acres of land across various regions in the island, with the labour efforts of CSD personnel. This harvest is currently stored in CSD-owned paddy storing yards.
