Colombo, Sri Lanka, Feb. 1 -- Sri Lanka Army issued the following press release:
Under the guidance of Commander of the Army, conjunction with the "Clean Sri Lanka" project and the government's efforts to beautify and systematize the motherland, Commanding Officer, 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment organized a tree planting programme on 30th January 2025 at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage premises.
The programme conducted under the direct directives of the Commander Security Forces (West), guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division and with the close supervision of the Commander 611 Infantry Brigade.
Accordingly, they planted 500 saplings in a selected plot of land at the Elephant Orphanage.
