Colombo, Sri Lanka, March 26 -- Sri Lanka Army issued the following press release:

Under the direction of the Commander, Security Forces (West) and the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, a Disaster Response and Rescue Training Programme was successfully conducted from 24 to 26 March 2025 at the Madampa River and Rivers Edge Hotel premises in Ambalangoda.

Troops of under-command battalions took part in the training, which focused on disaster management awareness, basic first aid, CPR, artificial respiration, water rescue techniques, boat handling, and the use of rescue knots.
